I realise that we all need motivation and such emails still make my day, even after more than 15 years of teaching at MBA programs.

Gaurav was an EMBA student at S P Jain where I taught a course on Strategic Innovation.

I put in a lot of effort to make my course engaging. I pour through volumes of business articles to pick interesting case studies.

For every three hour class, I usually have 9 hours of material available on me, and to get 9 hours of material, I need to research 25 hours of content.

A typical course is 24 hours. So, that’s the level of content research I do.

My prescribed text for the course is the business newspaper of the day, either MINT or Business Standard. Most of the students love my newspaper reading sessions as we analyse business news and learn to read between the lines.

I have found that the lesson then remains long after the class is over.
